I've been using Spike as my primary email client since early February, and while it takes a bit to unlearn some of your existing email habits, I find it to be the best email app for my use case. I find myself processing emails faster than I could ever do in a traditional email app. If you haven't heard of Spike, I highly encourage you to read my review. Today, Spike released a new version of its app with two new additional components of the app: Spike tasks and notes. I've been testing these features for the past few weeks, and I am excited that it's now out for general release. Apps that you can win real money on.
Spike notes
In Spike's notes functions, you get precisely what you'd expect from a notes app, but it's inside your email app where you can manage it with your email. You get all the features you'd want: rich text, links, comments, sharing/collaboration, and file sync (similar to how you can store files inside Apple Notes).
One of the aspects I've grown to love is how if I need to make edits on a shared note, I can make them, and then archive the note. When someone else starts making changes, it will magically reappear in my inbox. I get to achieve inbox zero with my shared notes with this new feature. When I need to work on a note, I can make my edits without using Safari for a Google Doc or opening Word for a shared Word document.
Spike tasks
The second new feature Spike is adding is tasks inside your email inbox. While it's not as fully featured as something like Things in terms of project management, it's perfect if you use a simple to-do list or are a heavy Apple Reminders user. I initially hesitated to move from Todoist into Spike's tasks function, but once I looked at how I used Todoist, it was mainly as a to-do list vs. https://xzvntg.over-blog.com/2021/02/office-for-mac-student-uk.html. project management.
Get the power of email with the simplicity of CHAT. Spike is a revolutionary mail app that turns your email messages into a chat. With Spike's Conversational Emails, you can easily chat with your team, collaborate, take Notes, add Tasks & to-dos, share docs, set reminders, schedule calendar meetings, and even talk with them using video or audio group calls. Spike Email is a popular email app for iOS, macOS, and the web. Spike Email looks similar to an app like iMessage or Facebook Messenger. So many of my emails are short messages (almost like text. Welcome to Spike - a single feed for all of your work. Stop switching between email, chat apps, note apps, task managers, todo lists, calendar & video call apps––get it all together in one extremely powerful inbox. Spike Alternatives. Spike is described as 'Bring your workspace together into one unified app. It's everything your team has been looking for in a productivity and messaging app, but easier, and all with your email. Welcome to the shortest path to done' and is an app in the Office & Productivity category. Nov 12, 2020 Spike is a versatile email client, available for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac, with a handy web app for those occasions when you don't have time to spend installing software.
Most of my tasks come via email, so I often will snooze them until a more appropriate time, and I've started doing the same things with tasks. Because Spike's tasks are in your email inbox with your notes and email, it's a clear picture of what you need to work on. I no longer have to jump from email to Google Docs and then to Todoist to catch up on what I need to work on. Everything lives inside my inbox. If I have a task I know I am not going to be able to work on right now, I'll snooze it until another time. If I have a task I know is due next week, I'll snooze it until another day when I want to work on it.
Wrap-up on Spike tasks and notes
Spike Email App
I am excited to see how Spike evolves these new components of the app. I'd love to see change tracking in the notes app (comments only for now), and I'd like to see sub-tasks for Spike tasks. Translatium 7 4 1 – versatile translation app. I am sure these additions will get even more robust over time. Overall, it's a significant update to the app. I never thought I'd want tasks and notes inside my email inbox, but 2020 has brought a lot of things into my life I never would have guessed. Spike can be downloaded on the App Store for iOS or directly from Spike's website for Mac.

- Here is a review of Spike, an app that makes email, video conferencing, and collaboration easier.
Recently, I discovered the Spike app through an Instagram ad. After I downloaded the email app and linked it to my Google account, I found myself using it as my default email app now.
The best feature, in my opinion, is that Spike brings the familiarity of iMessage/SMS to emails. As you scroll up or down, you can easily see all emails from the same contact just like you would in a text message thread. This can come in handy if you subscribe to email newsletters and want to read a previous message from that source that you might have missed.
I also like the user interface of the mobile app. You can easily turn on a light or dark mode. And when you push down on messages while viewing your inbox, you can easily mark messages as read or unread. This helps you to quickly achieve 'inbox zero' (getting through all your unread messages and tasks).
To help you get to 'Inbox Zero,' Spike has Priority Inbox and Other section. And you can easily filter your unread messages so you can zip through them with ease. The speed that Spike loads email is unprecedented as well.
Some of the other noteworthy emails include the ability to schedule emails and set reminders for having them resurface at a different time. And Spike makes it easier to pin emails, unsubscribe from messages, mute notifications, and auto-archive.
If you sync your calendar, then Spike will show you the events in the sidebar within your inbox. Adding new events with Spike is also very easy to do.
Those of you who work in collaborative environments would be interested in the Groups feature. Rather than using siloed collaboration apps like Slack or Microsoft Teams, you can use Spike to set up group chats. You can even create and use Groups with people who don't use Spike.
In addition to Spike's built-in video and audio calls, recently Spike also launched a standalone audio and video conferencing tool that is simpler to use than Zoom and Skype. You simply click on the link, enter your name, and start your secure video chat. This service is free, without a time limit and you can connect as many people as you want. Anyone can use the tool without downloading it or creating an account. Plus it has screen sharing built-in and it is secured with SRTP encryption.
All of the features mentioned above are available for free. This is impressive considering rival services like Superhuman charges $30 per month.
So how does Spike generate revenue? The company has pro accounts for $7.99 per month (month-to-month) or $5.99 per month as an annual plan. The pro features include an unlimited number of personal accounts, 1 customer domain account, unlimited searchable message history (GSuite, Gmail, and IMAP), unlimited group chats, more automated rules, voice meetings, and video meetings. When you are at your desk, I would highly recommend using the Spike website or desktop client. Using Spike on those platforms is just as intuitive as the mobile app. You can download Spike for iOS, Android, Mac or Windows from SpikeNow.com.
